Ana-Maria Vera, Reviews

Sydney Morning Herald

"Equally fresh, and wonderfully so in the slow movement, was Ana-Maria Vera's performance in Ravel's Piano Concerto. In this expansive melody, which Ravel sought to make as eloquent and overarching as Mozart, the phrases were shaped and coloured with simple, natural imagination so that everything was imbued with the sense of an unaffected but lyrical musical personality. It was something to which the orchestra clearly responded and the many demanding orchestral solos of this concerto came across with the intimacy of chamber music."
